(September 2007) The Zamykal crew worked a booth and sold a whole lotta kolaches at the Caldwell, Texas Kolache Festival. And we brought home the Reserve Champion in the "Bake Show" which included a cash prize!   But that's not all...Zamykal Gourmet Kolaches also won best cream cheese kolache and best apricot kolaches.  Woo Hoo!!

    You must plan a visit to the shop!  Calvert, founded in 1868, has the 3rd largest historical district in the state of Texas and every year we have two home tours during which gracious homeowners allow you to see inside some of our many fabulouse Victorian homes.  Visit our historic shopping district, which looks much the same as it did back in the day.  In this charming Victorian town, you can enjoy several galleries, retail shops, restuarants and you'll see some fabulous Victorian homes.  Come and experience finding one of a kind gifts, art, collectables and, of course, great food!  But be sure to pick up your kolaches early, because.....I bake all I can bake and when they're gone.....they're gone, until the next bake day.

 Customers can't help but be in the holiday spirit when they visit Zamykal Gourmet Kolaches.  Lots of lights, a snowman and holiday penquins invite passers by to visit the shop, but then as they step in, a whole winter wonderland of gingerbread, candy and nutcrackers displayed all around the shop  wait to greet them.  We even have Christmas music piped out on to the sidewalk to inhance their holiday shopping experience.
